Thailand (Show at Noriega's) pt II

silom soi 4 - the infamous gay street

Our Bangkok show was definitely a highlight in the history of the band. In terms of attendance and merch sales, it was nothing to write home about, but the incredible enthusiasm and hospitality shown by the people (esp the supporting bands) gave us all a most unforgettable experience.

We played in a small salsa bar at the end of a small lane notorious for its gay bars. The beautiful souls from Naked took us out and treated us complete strangers to dinner.

Ephraim impressed the crowd with his learned-from-cab-driver Thai phrases. That guy should pick up a few Asian languages. People mistook him for Thai, Malay, Chinese, Japanese... I'm telling you, he's THE face of Asia.

A gentle and soft-spoken Thai kid in an Ibanez t-shirt totally made Ben's day by comparing our sound to Rites of Spring, and the two had a good laugh over the nonsense that gets passed off as 'emo' these days.

It was our first show with Ding filling in, and he did a kickass job despite the drum click battery dying on him. I can't wait to for the KL and Singapore shows.

Thank you Naked. Thank you Ghost Story. Thank you Hubris. Thank you Samurai Loud. And of course thank you Van. Lovesong loves you guys and BKK.
