Day 4 - Kek Lok Si with Dr Yuan
First thing I did after waking up was to see if I could move into the same room that I'd stayed at on my previous visit. Unfortunately it was still occupied, but fortunately the guest staying in the one opposite had just checked out, so I quickly moved my stuff there. Spent the better part of the day hanging out with Dr Yuan, a Hong Kong-born Chinese doctor who moved to Malaysia in the 60s, got married, and started a new life out in Penang. My girlfriend and I met him outside a temple in the early hours of the morning during our previous visit to Penang. He seemed genuinely delighted to see me and took me to a couple of eating joints around Georgetown, as well as accompanying me to Kek Lok Si later in the afternoon. Unfortunately this was also when the phone's SD card started screwing up, so I was only able to document the day with a small handful of images.
