Bollywood Action @ Penang Odeon
My Bollywood experience can be summed up in one word: LOUD. The
theatre was equipped with one of those fancy DTS sound systems and I
guess they felt it was necessary to really show things off by cranking
the volume up to 10. The level was comparable to your typical
hardcore/punk show inside a small club that leaves your ears ringing
for at least the next couple of days. The movie itself was enjoyable
for the most part. Despite not understanding what they were saying, I
managed to pick up enough fo the over-dramatic facial expressions and
body language to get a sense of where the story was headed. But two
and a half hours later, the volume just became too unbearable, and so
I simply had to get up and leave the theatre. Besides, the film did
not seem to be drawing to any kind of a logical conclusion any time
soon.
