The moment has finally arrived. Today marks the start of our overland journey from Hong Kong to Bangkok, via China, Vietnam and Laos. Should be quite the adventure. Trigger and I have done similar things (albeit on a much smaller scale) so we should be alright. What's of interest to me is how Jen, who's never really backpacked in her life before, will cope with the dodgy guesthouses and cramped buses. Well, hopefully she can squat. We're catching the 12:45 pm bus to Guangzhou, where we'll meet up with Shima. The four of us will spend the night there, and then proceed to Nanning the following afternoon. Armed with four cameras and 40 or so rolls of film... let the fun begin!
